May 26, 2019  Every time I play this quest, the game crashes hard after 10-30 minutes. I am on the verge of giving up the game altogether. The game locks up in both DirectDraw and Glide. It seems that crash occurs faster in DirectDraw than Glide. It also happens regardless of the various video settings. Crash symptoms: 1. Image freezes 2. I have been trying to get diablo 2 to work on my windows xp dell dimension 8200 all day. I have played it on it before with no problems. But since i have a new hard drive. I updated the video drivers downloaded directx 9.0.

But it keeps crashing on the loading screen after i select my character. It also takes a few minutes to load after i click select character for some reason. Heres some more things i have tried starting it in administrator mode disabling startup applications completing the video test. But it keeps crashing on the loading screen with the guy in robes after i select my character. I also can still here music when it stops loading.
