Don’t put ‘Shri’, ‘Shriman’ and Shrimati on your table board, says the state government to all the government employees. The state government has been reconsidering on how to write the names of the officers on the sign and table boards in the government offices.On May 3, the state government ordered government officers across the city to follow Director of Language's guidelines and stop writing ‘Shri’, 'Shriman' and 'Shrimati' before their names.Officers have also been asked to write their initials in Marathi. For example, if an officer’s name is Hari Narayan Apte, then the board on his table board should not spell the initials in English vocabulary i.e H N Apte, instead it should spell them in Marathi.
